UPDATE: The suspect in this case has died at the hospital. He was identified as 55-year-old Able Guzman. The investigation is still ongoing. PPD is still investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred at the Wal-Mart Supercenter located at 1919 N Main in Pearland on Tuesday. According to reports from PPD, officers were dispatched after calls came in about someone discharging a firearm in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart. Upon their arrival, officers made contact with the male suspect. He was displaying a firearm, so officers attempted to speak to him first. At some point the male raised the firearm at the officers. Pearland Officers then fired at the suspect, striking him multiple times. The suspect was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital by Pearland Fire Department where he was later pronounced deceased. Thankfully, no one else was injured during the incident.
