Sophie1 you are not being ugly. I too wonder where the parents are. If this is the parents gun why didnt they lock it up? I agree parents today have NO CLUE what their kids are doing. Stealing guns from the parents, taking medication from their parents too get high, buying drugs and so on. This is not gonna stop until the PARENTS take responsibility for their kids and for them too get more involved in their kids lives. It starts at HOME folks !

@PearlandDotCom : @Sophie1 : @sdmanis : I don’t want to be ugly either...but in this day and time...it is not always the parents. Those kids can get what ever they want off the street. Hell I just flagged a post on here of someone trying to sell heroine and other heavy drugs by mail order...do you think they check for an ID...how many kids see that and order! It is a crying shame what our world has turned into. It will be the fight of every parent out there to make sure their children are not walking this evil path and pray we can bring our world back!

@PearlandDotCom : I guess I’m naive
I don’t understand any of this anymore
Why is a gun to school or a suicide the first thing kids are going to think to do ???

For all I know anymore, the student could've brought the gun to school for protection against another psycho mass shooter. Sad state of affairs for kids and adults.

@Sophie1 : @Alex : No, I missed it Sophie.
Alex, we were talking about this a while back, actually it's not really any different from the 70's & 80's when we were in school.
We had gun situations, fights, a students was killed at Albert Thomas Junior High School in a fight in 1971. Ross Sterling High School ALWAYS had some type of violence going on there. The teachers were afraid to teach there. This was the 70's.
Actually, I truly believe it's much better now. With the exception of the mass shootings, that takes it over the top.
Instant information is what has changed. Everybody instantly knows which makes it all encompassing and grabs/demands everyone's attention.

@sdmanis : I'm sure the parents will be held responsible if culpability is found. Texas requires guns be secured if children are likely to be present. If he took their gun from the home, they'll have some hard questions to answer.

@PearlandDotCom : So thankful the police were in top of it. Parents need to be more vigilant.
