“We’re happy to be back in Pearland for this additional date in 2018. We decided to add a second Pearland show between sets at last year’s Tony Booth event in May. We had so much fun reuniting with entertainers and watching the crowd enjoy the music,” according to Booth.

Inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2014, Booth at 19 became familiar with the comment, “What they call country music today is not really country.” His style of music continues to be considered real country. In 1973 Booth was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music along with Conway Twitty, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Ray Price and Charley Rich. The Tony Booth Band won Band of the Year from the Academy of Country Music 1970-1972.

Booth recorded 12 albums for United Artist, Capital, MGM and Heart of Texas. Hit records include Keys in the Mailbox, Lonesome 7-7203, Cinderella, When a Man Loves a Woman, Carwash Blues, Old Faithful, Happy Hour, Secret Love.

Today, Booth performs 40-50 shows per year including gigs in Japan, Switzerland, Canada, Sweden and of course Texas. The annual Tony Booth Day event held in Pearland during the first weekend in May celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2017. Many times he appears with legends including Johnny Bush, Darrel McCall, Brian Collins, Dallas Wayne, Justin Trevino, Dottie Jack, Doug Boggs just to name a few.

Entertainers at the Friday, February 2 dance at Billy’s Hall, 4070 Wells Drive include Tony Booth, Randy Lindley, Amber Digby, Doug Boggs, Lorraine Chavana, Dana Rowan, Mary Dooley, Shalane and The Texas Express Band with emcee Tracy Pitcox. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For tickets call 713-252-9773.

The line-up for Saturday, February 3 at Billy’s Hall, 4070 Wells Drive includes Tony Booth, Brian Collins, Tommy Horton, Doug Boggs, Lauretta Turner, Jerry Locke, Glenda Lynn and the Texas Express Band with Emcee Tracy Pitcox. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. For tickets call 713-252-9773.

Country music fans who want to plan a weekend stay for Tony Booth Birthday Bash can take advantage of special hotel rates offered by Pearland hotels.

@Maria60 : I'm telling my age now. The last concert I went to was in 1978 in Nacogdoches, Texas at the college and it was to see Hall & Oats. Their song "Private Eyes" was HUGE then. 😆

@Tom57 :

They'll be in Houston sometime in July. Either 106.9 or 99.1 FM was giving away tickets yesterday.

@PearlandDotCom :

Billy's has become a popular spot for musicians, especially older country & western bands. Good for Pearland!

@Maria60 : I'm sure Rod Stewart was a great concert to see. I used to play acoustic guitar in a couple of different garage bands. We had 3 or 4 of Rod Stewart's songs on our play list. Great music.

I had tickets to see Megan Trainor at the rodeo last year and then she had to cancel .Was so disappointed. I did however see an awesome ELO laser concert via 1976 . Back then that was really technically advanced and so cool. Lol
