Pearland Traffic Alert - 288 Resurfacing

Loading Image...

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDoT) has notified the City of Pearland that it will begin work on a pavement resurfacing project along the State Highway 288 corridor. This work is scheduled to begin sometime on or after April 10 and is scheduled to be performed during nighttime hours.

This work may take several months and the work zones will move every evening to new locations along the highway. The resurfacing work will replace the surface of the asphalt pavement areas on the northbound and southbound Main Lanes of State Highway 288 from the Brazoria County line (near Beltway 8) to Hayes Creek (just north of FM1462). The work will likely close multiple lanes for safety reasons and limit traffic to a single lane from time to time and may cause traffic backups within the work zone.

Please be aware that speed limits within the Work Zone will be temporarily lowered and drivers should be aware of construction equipment and personnel moving around within these work areas. The City urges drivers to seek alternate routes be used during this work and to exercise additional caution when driving in these areas.

Horrors! Good to have fair warning. These things have to be done, and we'll all be glad once it's finished so we'll have to just grit our teeth and live through it.
