I'm on a FaceBook page of cast iron collectors. They find it all my scouring garage sales, flea markets, old barns, etc. They're full of restoration methods like lye baths, best seasoning methods, etc. It's fun to read about, while I cook my bacon in my one little Lodge pan from WallyWorld.

I have a lot from my mother, grandmother, and even great grandmother. A few pieces I bought at flea markets for as little as $1. A few weeks ago, I saw a lot on FB Marketplace that had a skillet I wanted, my husband said I could get the whole lot. This lot was like the mother lode. It had 4 Griswold skillets in different sizes, a Griswald Dutch oven with the original TiteLock lid, a couple of large, old, camp fire griddles, and a square breakfast griddle. We cleaned and seasoned it all, and I am using it. I paid $150, and just one of those pans is worth more than that. I use mine, some people don't. My griddle is over 150 years old. My mother had a small one, and 5 kids. She traded it to a 70 year old woman who needed a small one, this one had been hers since she got married at 15. I have a bean pot that was patched by a tinker, and so many unbranded skillets I could use a different one every day. I really like the Griswold, because they weigh less than other brands. As for pictures, I still haven't learned to get pics on here. If anyone trusted me, I can text pictures if I have a phone number. Maybe someone who has a clue how to post them here, and as I won't disclose their name, they won't disclose mine. I keep it secret so no one will hunt me down and steal all the jars of pickeled beets I have been saving for disaster. I mean, I gave up my ax murdering and black mailing hobbies many years ago.
