Came back from a cruise in February and it was great. Will be going again in 2023. Best way to travel

I'm torn, I was going to try one for a few days back before the shutdown, but suddenly I'm seeing lots of people in masks again. Some of the lines were trying to separate people into vax and no vax, but I don't see that working very well.

@Stealth83: I get that. We cruised on the Carnival (Princess), if I remember. It was gross. The sewage system wasn't working correctly. We smelled smoke on 2 days of the trip. Don't get me wrong, whenever we were at port it was awesome. Back to the ship-not so much.
The next Voyage the cruise ship took, the fire started and stopped the ship out at sea for 3 weeks I think. The toilets didn't work food was not able to be prepared-does anyone recall? It was in 2015 or 2016. My memory slips from time to time. Anyway that experience and the various diseases is what keeps us home

@cocosmom : I remember that, and they wouldn't evacuate anyone! They just floated out there, with baloney sandwiches delivered to the doors, because everyone was confined to cabins.
I'm looking for one little trip, 3 days maybe, no kids, great food. I'm not even sure I'd get off the ship, although I'd love to see Cozumel again. I can tell you everyone raised the prices when the ships docked, then lowered them again for us divers. We'd get the lower prices if we wore our dive shirts, so I own a few of them still!

Well our 2020 Alaska cruise was ruined, so we are going in 2023. Love cruising hotel goes with you😋.

It's funny...nobody thinks about viral, "extreme outbreaks" anymore I guess. Cruises are just gross, and you can't go back home whenever you want. Never saw the appeal myself but that's just me. Lol to each their own..

@HillCountry : Yep! Now that I'm older, I totally get it. I don't like eating at potlucks anymore bc of bad experiences… and you never know how others keep their house. I love a staycation now, where as when I was younger I felt the need to go! I'm done with cruising. I can't even see the kitchen and the stories I've read and heard-oh my.
I do love a day trip tho! Yes indeed as long as I sleep in my own bed at the end of the day.

I thought at one time I might like to take an Alaska cruise, but not any more. I think I have become way to much of a germaphobe. I do not want to be anyplace I can't leave when I am done.

I'm ready to go..............
