@MalluGuy: thank you MalluGuy! I have spoken with Bill. He gave me general info of what they do but no specifics because he didn't recall the house. I have sent him the address and he will hopefully get back with me!!

I always Google companies with the word "complaint" or "reviews" after their names. Usually is an eye opener.

At this point, you might want to consider a subscription to Angie's, which is a website of listings of specialists and opinions of the local public who have hired them. It used to be Angie's List, but I believe they changed their name, I don't watch commercials so I'm not sure.
I still think you might want to research the 'watch dog' media reporters locally, too. I can see one of them really getting their teeth into a story like yours.

I know you didn't ask for a reference, but I've been using "Purpose Plumbing" and they have been spectacular. 👍

@ScrollMan: thank you so much for your recommendation. I had called 3 plumbers and only one made their appointment. It is ARS and I have been very happy with them. I hope to never need another plumber

I used to do my own plumbing work but as I age I find it much more "comfortable" to call someone else. LOL

@Blackbird : Angie's List is now called Angi. You don't have to have a subscription any longer. Give it a try

@Blackbird : Don't bother with Angie's. It is an advertising service and was useless when we used to to find someone to tile our floors. They gave Floors For Living glowing reviews. It was nothing but a nightmare. I would not even let those people walk in my house again. My negative review was not listed.
