Not sure where she was, but someone just woke me up with a flashlight in my bedroom window. She was looking for her dog? At 3:30 in the morning? I don't have Zero, but I do have an 8ft wooden fence for a reason. Guess it is time to put a lock back on the gate.

@Stealth83 : My husband had turned off the gate alarm and lights last night, or it would have let us know. Everything is back on now, and will stay on.

I should have let the girls out, they would have licked her to death, well, maybe not Chloe, but she would have looked at her before she came back to bed.

@Blackbird : In light of recent events, I wasn't going to say that, but you could be right. This neighborhood has had it's fair share of night time "activities," and there are people here who shoot first and ask later. I am not one of them, so she lucked out.

@susieq: We had to put a lock on the back gate…but now the handyman wants us to change it to a combo lock bc he's afraid of losing the key. Whata think, should I get a combo for the gate?

@cocosmom : I don't think I would. Ours is self close, and before we just had a sturdy bolt lock to keep the kid next door from letting Chloe out. New gate, need a new lock. We have automatic lights and verbal notification if anyone goes near the drive, gate, or front door, but DH turned it off for some reason.I guess it would depend on how well you know your handyman. What is to keep him from forgetting the combo or writing it on the fence so he won't forget it?
