Abbot had some formula released in February that was contaminated. Two babies died, from a bacterial infection that was believed to be caused by the formula. Four babies had to be hospitalized. Abbot closed the factory. Instead of looking for the source, and cleaning it up, they just left it closed.

I would suggest anger at Abbot, for not taking care
Anger at the Federal government for not inspecting the factory and telling Abbot to clean it up
The current Administration should have seen this train wreck on the way and stepped in sooner.

As MalluGuy mentioned, there seems to be a very adequate supply of formula along the southern Texas border. Why?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the government listened to what the people are crying out
for them to turn and listen to us for ??? Does Biden even know about this ??? or do they hide these
things from him ???

Bare Shelf Biden The new nickname that Biden has just been christened with. In honor of all the mothers without access to formula for their babies. The main factory that produces baby formula has been closed since February. Production of baby formula has been reduced by 45%. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for babies to be without food in this country. Yes, some moms are trying to make their own, that is not possible with some babies that are super allergic and have to have to have special formulas. Go to any grocery store, and look at the empty shelves. IF I didn't know any better, I might see this as a controlled situation. As I have said before, create a situation, then "solve" the situation to make yourself look like a hero.

@susieq : There is absolutely no excuse for this. Poor babies and moms. I know many other nicknames for him but I won't comment here.

I keep reading that there are Baby Formula shortages...... Come on America! Do your research!!! This is what past generations did.

1). Baby Formula did exist 50 years ago but many many moms made a homemade formula recommended by their pediatrician. I don't have a copy of the recipe but I'm sure you can google it.

2). Goat milk is almost identical to Mother's milk! It has no fat globules so it's easy to digest and many people that are are lactose intolerant seem to do fine consuming goat milk.

Find a provider, check out the farm, ask questions, then make a decision.

@MalluGuy : exactly. Border stations have stockpiles of formula for border crossers with babies. What about American babies with tax paying parents .....ok rant over.

@Musicmaker : It seems the shortage is only in the US. There is an attempt now to IMPORT baby formula from other countries. Ireland and Chile are two of them. Can you imagine how long that is going to take?

@susieq : To live in a Country the size of the United States and have to import baby formula is absolutely ridiculous. The shortage may have something to do with the amount that is being sent to the border. In my wildest dreams I can't even fathom leaving my Country (and I am not discounting the fact they might have been a shortage of milk where they came from) and not knowing for sure, but expecting another Country to feed my baby. Things must have been really bad.

@MalluGuy : bingo but remember its the "BAD" corporations who opened to sell you products in the first place.
Also those greedy moms who want to be sure they have food. those are the real BAD people.

what futures are up 6 % since the announcement that India will ban wheat exports they are the second largest producer of wheat. Yes they have said they will give some to Egypt it being a needy nation but if you believe they will let their own starve while feeding other needy nations I have a igloo in Florida I'm looking to sell.

@damascus1986 : My husband's truck will definitely be sitting for a while. People used to stop and want to buy it. Wonder what is happening to the price of diesel powered trucks now?
