Bare Shelf Biden The new nickname that Biden has just been christened with. In honor of all the mothers without access to formula for their babies. The main factory that produces baby formula has been closed since February. Production of baby formula has been reduced by 45%. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for babies to be without food in this country. Yes, some moms are trying to make their own, that is not possible with some babies that are super allergic and have to have to have special formulas. Go to any grocery store, and look at the empty shelves.
IF I didn't know any better, I might see this as a controlled situation. As I have said before, create a situation, then
"solve" the situation to make yourself look like a hero.

@Dorothy : Dorothy, I agree with this 100%, but this is not always possible esp for working mothers. Available formula should be there for those who need it, plain and simple.

@Stealth83 : I was in HEB yesterday, and there was 1 can of formula on the shelves. Not one kind, but ONE can. The news showed a woman last night who had to go to 7 different stores to get any formula for her child. There simply is not enough in the system at this time.

A friend of mine in NJ found 3 cans of formula and paid $67 for them. She has a foster baby. I feel sorry for military moms overseas - if there's a shortage in the States, there is none overseas.

Wednesday i saw one woman who had a cart full of cereal

@Stealth83 : A coworker told me about her friends/acquaintances that
buy the limit at the stores, like Kroger- buy 5 at a reduced cost or buy one then get these items free....
Next this person will make a multi package and sell on the internet or a driveway garage sale.
So that answered my question, as to why Kroger was sold out of Tide, $2. off and
Bounty paper towels at $1.50 off a 6 pk.
So it's just reselling what could be bought by any shopper, but making it tough for those honest shoppers,
Seemed like an odd way to make money.

@Dorothy : There are multiple reasons. Some babies can't tolerate breast milk. Some mothers can't seem to produce enough, I know because I was one of those mothers. The list goes on……

@Dorothy : I am sure there are reasons why some women can't breastfeed. Sickness or a baby could resist the milk. There many reasons.

@pathill1980 : With my first, he was so allergic to everything, it was unreal. My diet consisted of potatoes, pears, and chicken for over 4 months. His pediatrician(who was also mine when I was growing up) told me I was "killing myself. Put him on a special formula for babies with allergies as bad as his, and start eating normal food again." With the other two, it wasn't an issue at all. He is still that allergic.

Most baby formula in the U.S. is made by Abbot. Why yes, that is the same Abbot that produces many of our medications and COVID tests.

This is the most asinine thing I have ever heard of and I have lived a long time. Why would there be a shortage of milk for babies? I really have to know that so that I can be angry at the right people.
