VET's OFFICE AGAIN Yesterday, we had to take Heidi and Chloe for yearly checkups and also Heidi was limping a bit on one leg. OF COURSE we were placed in the last room we were in with Daisy. Then the vet came in, telling me how sorry she was about Daisy, she was one of a kind, best behaved dog ever. She asked Heidi to get on the exam table, Heidi is like, ? You talkin to me? I explained, "These dogs are not Daisy. They do not respond to hand signals, and half the time ignore verbal commands, unless they want to do it." So, we get Heidi up on the table, everything is good, till we decide to get films of the leg. I thought that poor little vet was going to cry. She told us she, "just could not tell me again, but there is a very real possibility Heidi has bone cancer." We left in shock, with some pain meds. Thank goodness she called today to tell us the experts "did not find cancer, just a torn ACL." Good news, but do you have any idea how much it costs to get one of those fixed now? Anywhere from $1,700, to over $7.000. I may see a Go Fund Me in our future, that is a whole lot of money for a rescue dog, that isn't even mine. Her last one(yes, she is one of those dogs,) was only $1,300. I am so glad we are not dealing with cancer again. I just don't think I could go through that again right now.
