One high school Math teacher, was inspiring and gave me the confidence in myself that I was good at math, which helped me graduate in the top half of the class.
I always felt that the elementary teachers were all great with us kids... They treated us with as much respect as we were taught to give them... When we moved on I remember tears in my eyes afraid I would never see them again... I guess I was the right age and in the right school for getting a great beginning ...
I can't pick one, there are so many from high school and college that made a mark on my life. Here's the most unusual one: Mr. Tolar was a Physics teacher at my HS. I didn't take Physics, but I had him for homeroom. So nothing much is supposed to happen in homeroom. They just pass out stuff to you or make announcements in the short 10 minutes you are there. Sometimes there's nothing that needs to be done and you're just supposed to sit quietly until the bell rings. Well, Mr. Tolar was having none of that. He had a captive audience and he was going to teach us something. So he would perform these short attention grabbing experiments to demonstrate principles of physics to engage us. Lesson: never pass up an opportunity share your passion.
@Musicmaker : My first and second grade teacher was amazing. In the 6 mr Cucci he was my science teacher. He didn't like me nor I liked him either however I learned so much
