For those interested Emoticon
The Brazoria County Expressway project consists of the development of a 4-lane (2+2) toll road within the existing median of SH 288. These lanes, as planned, will ultimately extend from CR 60 in Brazoria County to just south of US 59 within Harris County. The limits of work for this project are within Brazoria County from CR 58 to the Brazoria/Harris County Line at Clear Creek.

I really miss the Pre-toll road days. 288 had a grassy median, and the traffic was very smooth and quick to go to Houston .

I still think they should've built train tracks on that grassy median instead of toll roads.

@Txtoast : They are good when you really want to use them. I have accidentally gone onto them twice by not reading the signs correctly I guess.

I remember those days. Actually recall in 90s living in Manvel,
when 288 was 'free' way, driving at 60mph nonstop south to CR 48. Emoticon
Then, it was the best kept secret. Emoticon
