One of my pet peeves is when drivers don't use their turning signals. Please turn on turning signals....

@Knk : I agree! It's the worst and such a simple thing to do!

@Amanda : Yes, I agree. I hate it when drivers break suddenly when turning too. It's not difficult to slow down and put on your signal.

Research from the Society of Automotive Engineers says failure to use those turn signals results in more than twice the number of accidents that are caused by distracted driving.The study finds drivers across the country don't use their turn signals nearly half of the time when changing lanes, and people fail to signal a quarter of the time when making a turn. In all, 750 billion times a year.

I've noticed an awful lot of drivers switch lanes then put on their signals. You know you're about to do it, why not tell me?

I hate someone pulling out right in front of me and then turning into the next drive. Many people just don't understand that you do not HAVE to turn right on red. People racing to pull out in front of me, then slowing down.

I've wondered if driver's knew that, 'using a turn signal is a traffic code'. Not doing so can cause a police officer
to stop the vehicle and give a citation. I've seen it happen on 518.
Personally I like to let other drivers know where I'm going if turning.
Another piece of info. that I learned in Pearland's Citizens Police Academy -
PPD said the most recorded vehicle accidents are in the 'center turn lanes' caused by drivers entering the lane too soon.
