Name some old clubs in Houston you went to as a young adult in the 80's and 90's. Anyone remember Numbers? Blue planet? Bayou Mama's, Cardi's, Red Square? Pete's wildlife, Grasshopper? Club Spy? Surf Side Sally? Cabo? , keep going!!

I used to live off Richmond and W Loop, and all those clubs were closed. They used to be prowling grounds for the cop....
Numbers was still a thing, but dang, that music was loud. I liked Big Easy myself, but even that got to be too loud.

I moved to the area in late-1977, specifically an apartment on Spencer Highway in Pasadena. I was about two or three miles from Gilley's Club. That was before the movie Urban Cowboy was filmed. It was a great place to go dancing. It was low key and friendly. Some families brought their kids in. After the movie it went downhill.

Later, I used to go to Eddy's Country Ballroom in Manvel. Again, a place where families came in. Mr. Eddy didn't put up with troublemakers of any sort.

Wow I can't imagine kids in Gilley's. Are kids allowed in Ice Houses today?

I lived in a very small town in Kansas for a few months. McPherson, cruising main street at 10 mph with extremely loud exhaust on Saturday night was still a thing in the 90's

@MalluGuy : Kids and dogs are welcome at the Alabama Ice House. It used to be practically in my back yard.
