You can make a claim with ITC, but if you do - read it very carefully. Apparently a firm has been contacted by approx. 200 people and it you accept their claim - you can't sue them (not sure about having issues later). So be cautious.
3-21-19 SHELTER IN PLACE / DEER PARK and PASADENA. There was a Benzene release at SHELL CHEMICAL PLANT 3-20-19 that resulted in a SHELTER IN PLACE INSIDE THE SHELL PLANT - THIS WAS ON 3-20-19. I wonder if that Benzene is still lingering around in the air, or which chemical(s) is/are causing the air quality to be unacceptable enough that a Shelter In Place is needed.
Benzene is known to cause cancer, just got a call here in Pasadena stating the air quality is fine and that there is nothing to worry about. I doubt that very much.
You know, sometimes sorry just isn't enough. I don't believe what the plant is saying, their spokesperson's job is to protect them from any liability. No one wants panic in the streets, so I understand how things need to be worded, but come on, this has been going on for days. It isn't their first accident. What about the impact on the bay? It isn't like the water in the Channel does not have enough problems now, this is just compounding it.
