Motorcycle Thief Caught In Pearland
The Pearland Police Department has put the brakes on a serial motorcycle thief who was using online sale sites to find unsuspecting victims.
According to PPD, an investigation was launched after several victims from Pearland and surrounding areas filed complaints of their motorcycles being stolen in very similar ways. The suspect would make contact with the victims through social media classified pages and/or online sales sites. Once a meeting between them was arranged, the suspect would arrive and ask to “test drive” the bike. In some instances, he offered his keys to the victim as a sort of collateral for bringing their motorcycle back. He would then just take off, never to return. The victims would later find out the keys he left with them were fake or at least not to anything of his.
Chaisson Nemour Porche (23, Pearland) is now in custody with 4 charges of Unauthorized Use Of Motor Vehicle (Vehicle Theft).
This is an ongoing investigation, so more charges could be forthcoming.
There’s a chance that Porche has stolen other vehicles. If you have any information or were a victim of motorcycle theft in this manor, please contact Detective J. Page at Pearland PD - 281 997 4100.
